  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I'm really enjoying the program, its a difficult balancing act to begin with, juggling full time university with full time employment and it really is not the same as a more traditional route. That brings its own challenges but also its own rewards. The experience in industry whilst studying helps to cement that information.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • There is a good structure to the whole course. It is set out over six years which is slightly shorter than a more traditional route to becoming a fully qualified solicitor. Each year is reviewed by the university numerous times to ensure the required progress in being made and if any additional support is required.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive more than enough support from my employer. If I have any further questions in relation to my studies, there is a wealth of knowledge and experience to draw from in order to answer anything. If you require additional time away from work to focus on your studies, a compromise can be made to ensure they are "getting their moneys worth" from you, but not letting your academic side suffer.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The training provider is in almost constant communication, not always directly, through weekly emails or announcements. If you require any additional help, they are quick to respond with helpful answers. Additionally, if you require more focused 1 to 1 support that can also be arranged with the most appropriate member of the team.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Whilst not all of the theory is relevant at every stage of the role so far, you can see how later down the line it'll all come into play. Especially when you cover contract law at the end of year 1. The principles of the English Common Law System become immediately apparent when working.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There is a plethora of extra-curricular activities to get involved with at work. On the internal social platform, there is a page dedicated to the clubs and activities run by the business or individual members of the team. This can range from a running club, to a club specifically designed to help you find interesting travel destinations from people who have been before.

  • 9a. Would you recommend TUI UK & Ireland to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Its a fun place to work. Everyone is extremely friendly and the "TUI Ways of Working" allow for great flexibility to suit your individual working style. The office is also light and airy which helps you focus when the workload picks up. Having its on Costa Coffee also helps make things more enjoyable.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to TUI UK & Ireland?
  • Don't be afraid to be yourself. Don't try to be someone that you're not in order to try to gain an advantage during the application stage. If you act like your true self and let your own unique qualities shine through, you are far more likely to be successful.
