I am an auditor so I complete work on different parts of the financials statements such as cash, creditors and debtors. I request information with the client to gain assurance over the values given to us in the accounts. I work in a team and also independently to complete tasks and working papers.
I have developed communications and relationship building skills while I have been able to go out on client site and work with clients. I have also been able to build upon these with my own work colleagues. I have also developed technical skills regarding my job meaning I am able to complete sections of the audit without any guidance.
I enjoy my programme because I feel like I am constantly learning new and useful information and skills for my job. These will also benefit me in other service lines so they are transferable jobs. I enjoy being in the fast working environment and having a lot of work to do as it is very rewarding when I get it all done
The programme is very organised and structured. I know when I will be taking all of my exams and also when my programme reviews will be taking place. We have an easy point of contact for if anything goes wrong or if we have any extra questions which makes it run more smoothly.
I receive a lot of support from my employer. I have a first point of contact with my line manager who I can go to about both work and personal problems. I know that I can lean on people at work when I need to and that they are understanding of my heavy work load
There is frequent contact from my training provider and there is also a lot of guidance and support on their website. They have a lot of information so you can often find the solution to your problem without even having to contact someone but they do have live chats and chat bots to answer further queries in a good time
I feel my training qualification is pivotal in my development and excelling in my role. I learn new skills and knowledge through my training provider and my qualification which I need to know to perform well in my day to day work. There is also always extra training to help in any areas you feel are grey
There are lots of social activities and networking events to get involved in. There are a lot of emails detailing the different events which are taking place as well as the different socials. There is always an occasion that we are celebrating and there is always an activity taking place
Yes
Mazars have a great friendly culture. They make you feel like you are part of something bigger than just a regular job. Everyone is very welcoming and it is easy to make good friends as well as have a lot of support through tough times like doing your professional qualifications.
I would advise people to definitely give it a go and to just be yourself as everyone is very welcome, accepting and inclusive at the firm. Everyone wants you to be able to just be yourself and feel like you can come to work and it be a nice place to be
