To assist the Showroom Trading Manager to lead and inspire the showroom team to fulfil customers project needs by managing and promoting products and services, which in turn maximise sales and profit. To guide and train my team and make customers a top priority on a day to day basis.
From moving positions there's been a lot to take in and learn since i have now have taken on a management role so my communication and listening skills have greatly improved and i have now learnt the how to deal with customer complaints and make sure both B&Q and customer get the best out come
I like the fact that they don't require you to complete all the work outside of my working hours even though sometimes its not possible to get this all completed for a set deadline especially in showrooms when there are so many factors that get in the way but i also don't mind doing this.
The programme is extremely well organised and structured since changing their learning platform so that all the information and modules that i need are all set in one website now rather than 2 like before and organising meetings with my trainer is really easy to do wether that be face to face or on a teams call
I believe that the support i receive from my employer could be more organised rather than me needing to check in with my manager they should ideally be checking in with me to see how I'm getting on and if they can support me in any way at all.
My trainer is excellent and she has helped guide me with monthly calls and gave me the option to delay this by a month due to peak trading in January. Shes gave me ideas on what would make my modules easier and gives me reminders in case there may have been something ive forgot
I believe that my qualification has helped me in all aspects of my role from dealing with internal and external customers as well as dealing with different types of customers from complaints. I'm able to use my listening and communications to exceed in my new job role and all the help from the qualification makes that possible
I'm currently doing another 2 courses on top of my qualification which are first line manager training to help me to get to a trading manager in 6 months and also stepping up to team leader since this is newly appointed for me there will be other things to learn.

I've worked at B&Q for over 3 years now and I've loved every minute of it. You feel valued as an employee compared to other companies and i can say that I've been treated with respect since joining and my journey so far has been worth it for my progression
To always show imitative if you want to progress and always go that extra mile to help staff, management or customers to get yourself recognised especially if your looking at progressing in this company. Respect people how you want to be respected and the same mutual respect will be given back
