Administration in terms of communicating with customers, booking meetings, liaising with other teams across the Bank. Participating and planning customer meetings, providing agendas and post-meeting notes. Working with a specific Relationship Manager or more generally with the team as a whole. Day-to-day responsibilities such as answering emails, phone calls, and customer questions.
Constantly development of existing skills, as well as learning new skills such as efficient communication, general Bank related information, working within a team, working towards time specific goals. Also developed personal skills such as confidence, in terms of communicating, networking, and answering phones. There is room for constant improvement and development at every level.
I have really really enjoyed this programme, it has been something that I definitely wish that I had found much sooner than I did. I think that if I had found this apprenticeship during my final year at collage, then I wouldn’t have gone to university and rather prioritised apprenticeships.
It is extremely well structured and well planned. Throughout the whole enrolment process, everyone was helpful and present - there wasn’t any concern about anything, or if there was then there was the reassurance that whoever you spoke to will be able to help and guide. The live sessions are always on time and fully engaging, there is always time made available to ask questions or to repeat certain sections. The content itself is full thought out and detailed.
Full support. Everyone is super supportive of both myself and the apprenticeship programme as a whole. They’ve had multiple apprentices beforehand so this isn’t a new experience for them, which really allows for me to feel comfortable, both in terms of asking questions and also workload. I am made to feel as though I am already qualified but never overloaded with work that I, obviously, wouldn’t understand yet.
My coach is really supportive and made sure to check my understanding of the whole programme, not just what I am currently working on. She has helped me whenever I have had any questions and also prompted me to think ahead, towards the end goal. It is very clear that she has a good understanding of how best to coach apprentices.
It provides the basic understanding that all my team members and coworkers have through their own experience of working within the bank for multiple years. It’s not specific to just my role and my part of the Bank, which is very good when thinking about after my apprenticeship finishes.
There are constantly events being run and organised, both internal ones for just employees and ones for customers. Professional networking events are highly prioritised for both networking within the Bank and also networking with other professionals. There was a well-being team event organised in January which was fitness related and lasted a month. These events really make you feel integrated and as if you have been working there for years.
Yes
From my experience, it is a very good place to work as there is a clear prioritisation on employee experience and employee well being. Also, the companies goals in terms of climate are significant with the current climate and other companies not responding to the issue. Everyone in my team and all the other teams within the office are very pleasant people to work with, everyone is open to questions and conversations and working together on certain meetings, etc.
Don’t try to be someone your not, it is far better to be honest about your understanding and previous experience because there is no shaming during the interview process. Whilst it is better to be prepared, there’s no expectation to know everything and fully self-sufficient. Everyone relies on each all the time and that really makes a cohesive working environment.
