My Role involves working on change requests for the customer. Whether that be working on COBOL/DB2 or on documentation involving excel spreadsheets and formulas.
Yes i have developed my microsoft office skills and learn new skills which are the basics of using a mainframe, COBOL and DB2.
I really enjoy my programme. Its 5 years with a degree at the end of it which is really good. Also I will be learning new skills along the way. Also the support we get is very good.
I feel as apprentices we are valued as the company has invested a lot into our training and they want us to do a good job for them in return.
My programme is fairly structured. There’s regular meetings and modules to compete which goes towards earning credits to pass the apprenticeship.
Our training provider, QA, offer loads of support. We have our own QA reviewer who is there to help and answer any questions we have.
My employer also gives me loads of support. He makes things clear and is very approachable. They are always willing to answer any questions i have
I feel that the salary is suitable for my costs. At the moment I have various bills to pay such as car maintenance so my salary is enabling me to pay for that.
There are many opportunites outside of work such as extra training courses.
Yes
