I attend pumping station sites across all London mostly south and north west and commence maintenance when required or replacement for components, assets, pumps or anything within my job skill. I also complete jobs for write ups and off the job training for completion of my apprenticeship.
I have learnt a great array of skills including use of electrical and mechanical tools, function of pumps, how to disassemble and reassemble pumps as well as electrical component functions and switchboard maintenance. I have broadened my knowledge within the business since I first started at Thames water.
I enjoy my program as I am always learning on the day and I enjoy the company of the team.
At first the organisation of the apprenticeship program was not too good however we time progressed, the structure improved as well as the flow of progression within my apprenticeship.
I get lots of support with knowledge, any parts or tools that I may need as well as flexibility with attending different areas of the business.
I receive a good amount of support for progress towards the finish of my program.
Yes I have noticed that I am applying more to my work based off the knowledge and skills I have gained through the training provider.
There are benefits when working at Thames water such as discounts in gyms and sports clubs if wanted.
