I run the restaurant I work in when the business manager isn't there, I ensure business targets are achieved and drive sales. I train shift managers to a high standard so they can run good shifts and deliver the employee and customer experience. I spend my time doing admin tasks and ensuring the business objectives are met
During my degree I have learnt about business strategy, financial controls and people management. Check I use every day in my job role. I have done business projects that have helped with my job and have ment I have to produce real research into business problems I have faced/facing
I have definitely had any ups and downs but no one should enter into an apprenticeship thinking it will be all plan sailing. I enjoy my work and studies I like the people and the possibility for my future, I enjoy my studies and it really helps that they something useful on my day to day
The uni is very good, I can't really fault them they are excellent and they listen when you think they could improve. The business I'm in is franchised which means each one is different, unfortunately this means anything this does mean there needs to be clear communication and you need to stick to your guns when you need something
I have had to ask however I do get support. I haven't had the best business managers and this has ment I have become very self motivated and good at managing what I need. I have gotten everything I need but I have had to ask and fight for it
They've been great, really happy with it you can tell they really want the best for us and they also want to make it as stress feel as possible while also helping us manager out stress due to the nature of the course. They have an excellent wellness program
I feel like it's very industry relevant and it's great they people who are industry experts and lectures work together to create a really good useful course. I used everything I learn in my job and it is all really well explained in a business context so it is useful
We do Christmas parties, networking events, trips to head office. We have lots of events to go to but it is difficult for those of use that live in rural areas such a Devon and Cornwall. But if you can afford to travel and have the time you can go
Yes
I have gained a lot and I have no debt, I will have 5 years experience a degree, CMI status and savings, I'll be in a really good position that I know a lot of my friends would kill for. I think an apprenticeship is a great way to get your education
Make sure your being you , your open minded and you are confident. You need to be self motivating and understand that you will face times where you don't want to continue and you need to have the strength to push through. You need to be positive and make sure you have a good support system
