Using CAD software (siemens NX) and other advanced manufacturing technologies in order to help design and create engineering drawings for new or existing components of MRI scanners.
With the extensive support and close supervision I have already progressed from never having used CAD at the start of the apprenticeship to being relatively competent on some software's and after a short period of time. Being involved in site trips and projects strait away developed my business function understanding.
Its the perfect level of challenging for me as there is support if requested.
the structure could have been communicated more clearly from the beginning however it is quite complicated with different elements interacting so it is difficult.
Siemens Healthineers has exceeded my expectations. Talking with other degree apprentices its clear the support and set up provided by siemens is superior to other companies. My manager has a busy itinerary but makes time to respond to emails and calls to ensure I'm thriving in the role
There is support if requested, some lecturers are better than others but overall i think the small group sizes and teaching is good and potentially better than standard university to get individual help.
I believe by the end of my training i will be confident and competent in my role. Although everything is not completely specific to my job at siemens healthineers, I think it's a benefit to have some surrounding engineering knowledge.
there are events such as charity sky dives and bake sales as well as prize draws, board game lunchtimes and volunteering days that i am yet to be involved in but i look forward to when i begin properly.
