Day to day I answer my emails. Most my emails will be from contractors and clients. I relay information between all the parties. I make and maintain trackers. Most my time is spent in teams calls and I present in some. Some days I am very busy but some times I am not it varies a lot.
In the past 6 months I have leaned a lot. I now know how to write and communicate in a professional manner. I can know present to a room full of people. I now know the stages of a project and I have learned a lot of technical knowledge in terms of H&S, RIBA stages, processes and procedures.
I enjoy my job overall. Some days are better then others but overall it is good. I have made new friends and everyone at Mace is very nice and supporting. Much of my work is very interesting but I also have to do some admin which is not very fun.
Very very good. We many training sessions with all our cohort. Reviews also occur. Everyone is assigned a line manager who looks after the apprentice and kind of acts as a mentor. The line manager usually assigns tasks and work to be done. Mace also keep in contact with the university to make sure we keep a good attendance and that we get good grades
I get a lot of support. My line manager is fantastic. I talk to her everyday or most days and she answers all my questions. We are also well supported by the emerging talent team. We are also assigned a university line manager who offers uni support and they are more involved academically
UCEM are good at offering support they assign everyone a line manager. I have heard that not all line managers are the same however in my experience my line manager is very good as she is very supportive and we check in from time to time. They also have central support which is online but I have never used it
I think it helps me a lot but I feel as if all projects are unique therefore some of the information is not that useful. Currently, I have finished 2 of my modules and overall I think they were okay. I do think they can get boring especially the reading
Many activities. We usually go out for drinks and occasionally we have socials. People mix and make friends and eventually your close friends. Most people have a great mindset. Sports is available like 5-aside and more. You can also do a volunteering day with a team. Their are also workstreams and more. I t is all up to you on how much youd like to get involved
Yes
Great people. Decent pay. Good chance to earn a qualification whilst remaining debt free. Good ethos and values and it is a people business. Apprentices are allowed to make mistakes and you are not expected to know it all. You can also work from home a couple days a week
Understand what the role you are applying for does and look into the Mace values. Make sure you come across confident as people skills are highly valued as they will ensure you develop technically. Be passionate and show why you want the role and why you want to work for Mace
