Working within Treasury of Lloyds and producing numbers on a Month End basis to inform different divisions about how our performance and external factors impact their different funding levels.
I am learning to code which is not something I have any experience with as well as developing a greater understanding of how my own skills can be useful within the banking sector.
So far I have found it really engaging. It has gone very quickly in my first 6 months and I would say that I feel as if I have had an impact within my team, and the work I have done in the first 6 months has been useful to others.
It has been structured really well in certain areas, whilst allowing for a certain amount of flexibility in others in order for the work I am doing to be tailored to my particular team at the moment.
This, for me, has probably been the best part of the apprenticeship as a whole. I have various ports of call within my team and the department as a whole and any questions I have are heard and dealt with in a really respectfully manner.
I have had lots of support so far, whether that be from tutors on the course or my 'talent coach' whom I have regular meetings with.
I'd say that my qualification has helped me understand the financial world better and any additional knowledge is really useful for my role. However, as my roles isn't true accounting perhaps it's not as useful in a practical sense, but the theory is invaluable.
There are plenty of opportunities at work for social events and they are constantly promoting different things to celebrate within the group as a whole. Things like Black history month and Internationals Women's Day are highlighted and different events will be held throughout a month to celebrate these events.
Yes
I think the best thing about LBG is the amount of support they offer. I cannot stress enough how friendly of a work environment it has been so far and for a new starter into the working world I think it is an ideal employer.
The main thing I would probably suggest is to not be shy about getting to know people. Everyone is really friendly and only by reaching out can you develop these connections that are there and waiting to be made.
