My role consists of me joining a stand up call where we discuss what we are going to do for the whole day. This usually lasts around 10-15 minutes. After this we work on the 'ticket' that has been assigned to us which usually consists of a defect that we need to fix.
Being an apprentice has given me hands on experience that I wouldn't have received at university. I learn new knowledge and get to apply it. Although this can be quite overwhelming sometimes and you feel the pressure to remember things, it's a rewarding process and would definitely recommend it.
My program is still on going. So far I have really enjoyed the balance of working and learning. And for free to which is the ultimate bonus. University can get very intense so you wont have much time to go through everything but the lecturers are really supportive and will explain things to you.
I'd say my programme is very structured due to it being part of a university. Even though we are apprentices, we get treated like full time students which is great. We still have access to all the same services which is really beneficial and removes that invisible barrier between us.
My employer is very supportive to our situations and the fact that we have alot going on. They always ask us if everything is ok and urge us to let them know if we are facing any issues as suppose to turning a blind eye which I really appreciate as an apprentice.
Our employer is open to development and have invested in a numerous amount of sources for us to excel our knowledge. These sites can be used to help us expand our knowledge in general or support us with university work we are working on so it's a win win in both scenarios.
My performance has increased through my training provider as they have taught us concepts that work on our critical thinking and the logical understanding of how things work which enables us to visualise the situation. I work best when I am able to visualise a problem as it opens my head up to different answers.
I am part of our mental health team which is really personal to me as I get to support people who may be struggling with working or may have something going on in their lives. By supporting them through sensitive matters I am able to gain insight on how they are struggling and share ways to help them through their hard times.
Yes
I would recommend Experian to a friend as it is a loving company that takes you on board with no expectations what so ever. They then help build your values in accordance to Experian and help you become an individual worth value with all the future knowledge you will possess.
My tips would be to strongly advise applicants to be themselves as they need to remember that everyone is bring good grades/good fundamental knowledge to the table when it comes to the role. It's what makes you different and stand out which they're after. Can you bring a different perspective to the table?
