In my role I provide IT Services and Solutions to business's. Each day is quite varied and involves cold calling, prospecting accounts, meeting with clients, managing accounts and designing solutions. To summarise in my role I aim to understand clients requirements and offer them tailored solutions to address these.
- I have learned how to conduct myself in a professional manner when in contact with external parties. - I've developed my knowledge of sales and the selling process. - I've increased my technical knowledge in the IT field - I've strongly developed my organisational skills as a result of balancing all my responsibilities
I absolutely love working at Softcat. The whole experience has been phenomenal. Not only is the job itself interesting and varied, but the experiences that they provide such as work events and training trips have been absolutely fantastic. I also really love the flexibility that their hybrid working policy offers.
The program is well structured and they provide a clear roadmap on the first day of learning that they have stuck to and you receive regular updates and checking from learning mentors / Apprentices providers. The structure ensures that we cover all of the content required in a given amount of time.
I feel supported by my employer, and they make it obvious where to go to if I would feel that I would need any additional support for anything both internally and externally . They have regular reviews and are very good at going over anything that may not be understood the first time.
Firebrand provides excellent support in regards to working towards the qualifications although early on in my apprenticeship there was some disruption when the previous learning mentor left over Christmas although they did deal with this disruption in a timely manner. They are in regular contact and are always approachable with any questions
I would say that the qualification through my training provider has helped me perform better in my role as they do semi-regular training days down in Bedfordshire and the courses there have provided me with insight into the sales process particularly regarding objection handling and managing customer expectations which I use in my day to day
I go to quite a few professional networking events such as pure storage northern partners drinks and I attend the regular events Softcat puts on. I am also a member of the health and wellbeing team which meets monthly and manages events such as the health and well being weeks which are bi-annual
Yes
I have recommended this to many of my friends. I absolutely love coming to work and genuinely can't think of any downsides. The job feels genuinely enriching and the whole culture of Softcat is fantastic as can be seen by regular events and events both within each office companywide
I would say to research Softcat as much as possible prior to an interview as In my interview process they asked questions where it was massively beneficial to have an understanding of who Softcat are and what they do and by gaining an understanding of Softcat it also helps you decide if it's the right job for you
