I am responsible for overseeing multiple projects simultaneously, to make sure they are on track regarding quality, time and budget. I coordinate with clients, my lead project managers, the supporting team and brokers to make sure that they are satisfied or on track.
This course has equipped me with the ability to manage projects, plan resources, communicate effectively and identify and mitigate risks. The experience has also allowed me to develop skills in leadership, problem-solving and attention to detail.
I definitely enjoy the programme, I have a huge passion for project management. This programme has allowed me to have a deeper understanding of it and apply it to the working world.
I would say it is well structured, you get one day a week study leave and the rest is a normal working day. This allows you to have time to complete your work, you also have your manager and mentor from the course provider checking in to make sure you are on target and provide support.
My manager has been great at checking in and providing support where needed. We also have an apprenticeship meeting every month so that you can ask any questions and get any support you need.
I have one to one sessions with my mentor who will happily go through any topics you don't understand. There are also wider training sessions that you can join.
I personally feel that it doesn't overlap as much, theoretical knowledge can be completely different to the practical. But I feel it is great to understand what the standardised approach is and how we adapt it to our role and company
There are a lot of different activities at WTW, something for everyone so if you want to get involved in something there is definitely something for you.
Yes
The experience as a whole has been great, it has taught me a lot about project management as well as about myself. I have also been able to expand my knowledge into different areas within the industry and find ways to widen my skillset. It was definitely the perfect balance for me.
Make sure what you are applying for you are passionate about, this definitely shows in the interview process, be yourself and that will definitely shine through.
