  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work within the fees team at Fidelity mainly focusing on Adviser fees. I'm responsible along with my team for completing both the collection of fees from client accounts as well as paying those fees out to advisers. I also answer any queries that arise from this.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I'm enjoying learning new things in regards to investment management (both from the qualification as well as in my role) and getting the chance to meet new people. However I find my days quite mundane and often don't feel challenged enough. This has made me want to explore my options more.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I believe the programme is structured well. I am happy with the resources (textbooks, training provider) to complete my exams/coursework. However I struggled to find time in my working day to complete revision (1.5 hours expected per day to focus on apprenticeship work), as was often given to much work. This was a struggle to get decreased.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I believe it helps to a certain extent although majority of topics from the exams aren't relevant to my role. I'm happy to learn as much as I can though as is also helpful when looking towards the future.

    7/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes I often go out with members from my team. I have also attended some Investment 2020 networking events although since entering my second year of the apprenticeship there have been less invitations to these.
