  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role on a day to day basis was to review issues and try to come up with solutions with my team in order to progress issues further, these solutions would include script changes contacting other teams and liasing with the customer based on what was going on in the project

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes i learnt many skills theoughout my apprenticeship and managed to accumulate certifications which allowed me to be certified in certain practices that i wanted to pursue in the future in accordance with my career goals. This experience also allowed me to understand how an organisation works within a large organisation

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoyed my time as a working employee as being a student while workjng full time is very difficult as well as this we had to endure covid19 for two years of the programme which i felt hindered the opportunity for further growth by having a lockdown although it was beneficial

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The Degree part of the programme is well thought out and i always felt there was plans in place for everything which was nice and allowed for further scheduling however i felt the working side was not as structured as i stayed in the same role for a significant amount of time without rotations

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The employer gives a lot of support no matter what you are looking for there is always someone to ask i felt that all the employees here are willing yk help you and some even go above and beyond because of the environment of people that are working here that was good

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The university was super helpful constantly as i always emailed my lecturers no matter what time and used to get responses quite quickly aswell as this the few times i struggled they made it easier for me to handle the situation although i was under a lot of stress due to commitments

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel my qualification helped my understanding more general organisational things as i now understand better how my role works in the company and how i can progress further in my career it also allowed me to explore options which i may pick up in a future job role somewhere

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are many activities to get involved with group fun activities also charity and other professional events in the sports social club there is always somethjng new to look at and go have fun emails are sent all the time noting different events so that there is always something fun to do

  • 9a. Would you recommend CGI to a friend?
  • No


  • 9b. Why?
  • Although my experience here was relatively okay i felt that in an early career it was good to kickstart however i domt see career progression and many people who are employees are on a lower salary than the market value which they try to balance out with the benefits they give


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to CGI?
  • What i would recommend is be clear in what your goals are and what you need to achieve them as updating your skills to keep and be certified pays welll and allows you to progress faster in your career not only that being certified the training will teach you in depth tricks and tips
