Working in a team to complete an overall audit by being given smaller sub tasks which I am talked through on how to do by someone in a more senior position to me. In my role I am tasked with performing my regular day to day tasks and completing my studies in my own time or set aside learning days.
I have learnt basic accounting skills and learnt new terminology used in finance. I've also improved on my pre existing knowledge of excel and learnt how to become more efficient when using functions. As well as this, my overall communication skills have improved by working in a colabortive environment.
I enjoy the responsibility that I am given to complete my tasks despite only being new at the company and having a limited knowledge of the job. Whilst working and studying at the same time can be stressful, I enjoy it as it keeps me well motivated and well driven.
It is well structured to ensure I get a good amount of time working in between learning days to allow me to develop my skills in a non interrupted environment. Also, for exams I am given plenty of time for revision days leading up to it to make sure I can fully focus on the exam.
I receive a high level of support from my employer as everyone at the company is very happy to support you when you have any queries whether it is about on the job work or study for the qualifications. Also, you're allocated a progress manager who checks up on you regularly to make sure you're on track with what you're doing.
I receive a good amount of support from my training provider when working towards qualifications. After the days of learning, the tutors are happy to provide support via email for any queries that you have. BPP also regularly contact me with learning opportunities and seminars to further my studies more.
It helps me perform a lot better the longer i've been in the role as more of the content that i was taught has come up in my role, so i am able to implement my learning effectively and have a better understanding of what i am doing in my role.
There are lots of extra curricular activities to get involved in. There is a social team that plan social events for the office every month and there has been sport activities for fun arranged that i have got involved with like 5-a-side football for example and plenty of charity fundraising activities.

KPMG are a good employer who offer a tremendous amount of support to new joiners at the company and you can tell they have great interest in seeing you grow not only as a professional but as a person as well. Also the apprenticeship programme is ran with great efficiency.
It is definitely worth doing and if you are in the application process, try to be yourself as they are looking for the right type of person more than they are looking for someone with high grades. Also don't be afraid to ask questions as that shows you're willing to learn.
