I work within the Financial Crime team, overseeing project and change activity, supporting 1st line operations and 2nd line teams. Responding to queries and escalations, updating processes and procedures and supporting other business units in relation to AML and CDD requirements.
I have developed a number of skills over the course of the programme, including time management, communication, presentation skills, as well as project management and stakeholder engagement.
The programme has allowed me to complete a qualification at diploma level, this alongside some of the programme activity has allowed me to enhance key knowledge within my role as well as look at potential progression.
The programme is structured well in relation to contact points, coaching and understanding the overall scope of activity required to complete the apprenticeship. There has been on occasion miscommunication of required activity, the timelines on when things are due as part of the programme.
I receive lots of support from my employer, my manager and my team.
The training provider for my qualification had a set course, focused on individual study as well as various workshops spread throughout the year, based on the modules being reviewed as part of the three assignments.
My knowledge of the wider environment as well as key practices within my role has increased a great deal. I now have a different perspective when approaching tasks, understanding key processes etc. that sit behind a certain action or requirement.
Team social events, networking, recently I attended a 2 day compliance event which allowed networking as well as a deeper understanding of products being offered in the AML/Compliance space.
