My role consists of approving invoices, running LSMW's, preparing daily forecasting information and preparing other information to be passed around the business as well as an array of other work
I have learnt many new skills on the job, before coming into the role I was a complete novice and didn't know much about the accounting role but as I've continued to work I have picked up a huge amount of understanding
I enjoy it a lot, my lectures are well organised with plenty of supporting material and all topics are covered thoroughly without it being boring
From a company stand point it is extremely well organised, Marston's has experience with many apprentices so they are seasoned veterans when it comes to providing the right support.
A lot! My line manager was an apprentice through a very similar program so she knows the ins and outs of what is needed for me to grow professionally and academically
They provide a lot, although sometimes I feel as though some of it is unneccessary and uses a lot of time that I could spend on other things
I am still quite early on in my apprenticeship but what I have learnt feels extremely useful and I think it will be very useful in the future as my role grows
We have a strong culture of going out as a team and socialising to build relationships and strengthen morale
Yes
They are a strong company with a great corporate culture, friendly staff all the way up to the highest level and are just generally good employers
Practice interview skills, they can provide for any gaps in your knowledge as long as you show them that you are driven, ambitious, social and would generally be a good asset to the team.
