  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My specific role is heavily in line with Salesforce CRM, it involves updating presentations for sector leads etc. on how they are performing against targets and various metrics. The program is centered around 4, 6 month rotations however so in my next rotation, I will be introduced to a completely different part of the company, Risk & Quality which will help to broaden my knowledge.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt so much in my time and have only been there for 6 months, the majority of this is in reporting, dashboard creating on salesforce. However I have also learnt so much about how to professionally communicate and how a large firm operates

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I thoroughly enjoy my program and wouldn't prefer to do any other program. The culture at my company is one of the main reasons why I wouldn't want to go anywhere else in the big4 for example. The culture is so friendly, and they are aware that we are individuals and not just numbers. I get the freedom to manage my own diaries and work flexibly.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • From PWCs side, the structure of my program is great. HApp have roles already planned out to make sure we aren't on the bench at any point so that we get as much time working and learning as possible. In terms of the qualification we have struggled with Kaplan (the apprenticeship qualification provider) as they are severely underprepared. However, PWC are always supporting us and Happy to get senior individuals to intervene in regards to Kaplan.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have a career coach, relationship leader and a talent coach. All of these people are available for me to contact them about any and all queries. Because of the culture of the firm, I would also feel comfortable going to colleagues for support as I know I would be heard

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have a talent coach which are available for questions. However Kaplan has been very disappointing in the way they have handled our exams and learning so far, because of heavy intervention by PWC i hope that this will improve

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • At the moment we are going through the basic or accounting and business environment so I have not felt it has helped me at all in my role, going forward, when I do my management consulting qualification, hopefully this will have a greater impact

    6/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • So many, we have an internal social media platform and this is where I have found my extracurriculars, e.g., the PWC netball team

  • 9a. Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It is amazing

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
  • Get to grips with the culture of the company and why the firm decide to have that culture. The firm like to employee people who are able to adapt the culture because of their morals own morals rather than having to comply with them
