During the apprenticeship you will expect a varied day to day chain of events. My general roles and responsibilities involve planning, working hands on with the construction team and sub contractor, ensuring health and safety is carried out and the quality of the work is where it needs to be.
I have learned a variety of skills and knowledge throughout while developing existing skills and further elaborating on the knowledge I have already atained. This includes learning about nationally recognised regulations and ACOPS, following the companies standards and procedures and understanding what good looks like etc.
I enjoy the programme because I am learning while being hands on with the tasks. Learning allows me to apply the knowledge to real life scenarios and to apply real life scenarios to my learning to give me a better understanding.
The programme is as organised as you would like to make it. Apprenticeships involve a lot of independant working however Mace provides the support if you need it and they all provide the foundations of industry leading training programmes to enable your developement giving you the best opportunity possible.
You recieve a lot of support, there is no such thing as a stupid question!. You have a vast array of leading industry professionals surrounding you, you just need to make sure you ask plenty of questions and absorb it all. There are plenty of training programmes and community groups.
Plenty of support, I am currently on track to ataining my target grades.
The qualification gives you theoretical examples as well as real life examples to apply it to the role at hand. As explained you can apply this to the role and the role can be applied to the education.
Yes, plenty of optional training and development programmes including community groups to get involved with. If you need mentors they are available from all fields; If you need to do site visits to learn more you can. There are plenty of social avitivies and networking events.
Yes
I wouldn't be working for the company If I didn't think it was excellent. I have my own experiences with life skills and understanding of how things work, my friends look up to me for this there for I would recommend Mace and my friends would follow and take my advice.
Make sure that you if you do start the journey; commit to it, Mace offers a variety of paths and the path that you chose isn't going to be the only path you will stick to throughout your career. Mace is an excellent company.
