Advising, managing and coaching the staff and daily activities of running the shift. Helping the assistant manager with their roles and ensuring the smooth running of the shift. Also assisting in the closing down of the shift and ensuring great customer service throughout the journey of the customer from a warm welcome to a fond farewell
Yes, learning how to do things "by the book" enables me to lewrn how to do my job better, i have been able to understand the differnt management styles and how to manage and coach staff. Also how to properly manage a project and how to deal with finances accordingly.
I have enjoyed the virtual and in person classrooms when on my courses. I have enjoyed learning the proper way to do things and receiving the theory side to my practical job. However, being in the role for my particular MDP would help me better understand and implememt my role.
Meetings and reviews are held regularly with deadlines and agreed work to be complete. Work is talked through when necessary and it is all laid out through the online Aptem system, which is easy to navigate and complete. I like the "dashboard" on Aptem, which helps me with the overall view of my apprenticeship learning.
At the moment, just the minimum, i have been put om this MDP tl further my career, but not as yet been put in the respective role, to which this course is for. But a position is becoming available so, there maybe a chance to be promoted to the role?!
We have regular contact through our scheduled reviews, he is focused on getting my work completed. He is tough but fair and is always understanding when i am not upto date with my course work. I could not ask for a better tutor. I Would at time like to have some in person 121's rather than always online but i know location is part of the problem.
It is enabling me to understand my roles and responsibilities alot better in detail. Having the theory behind the practical always gives me the full picture. This MDP is giving me all the tools I need to help me fulfil the career and responsibilities i need tl enjoy my job.
Not at the moment. There doesnt seem to be anything that my employer does that would give me any extra curricular activities, but I'm sure my company have things that are available to me, i just need to find them on the company intranet. Then i will look into joining some.

Pick the right role for you, enjoy the work that you do, ensure you always get training and if possible, go for an apprenticeship. Greene King have a great staff loyalty and discount scheme and are well worth their weight in gold. I have and still am enjoying my time at my current employer
