I work in a lab in the quality control department and it’s my role to run and analyse samples and then recording them making sure I am getting a correct result.
I have learned basic lab skills aswell as learning how to use various machinery and utensils.
I very much enjoy my programme as it is if very practical and hands on and feel I would have got the same experience if I went to university
I have university every Monday and get time of work to study and then from Tuesday to Friday I am at the workplace. This insures I have a designated day to focus on my university work.
If I am in any need of help I know who I can speak to. Aswell I have been given various amount of training before dealing with samples and equipment.
I receive a lot of support from my training provider. If I feel I need extra support on a module they are there to help support me .
I can apply my knowledge from my university work into my role and help me understanding better my role aswell as various tests.
We have many training exercises where we get to meet a lot of new people from the workplace who I wouldn’t see that often. We also have social gatherings outside of work at Christmas time and other times during the year.

The people here at LMT are so kind and welcoming. Being fresh out of college and starting at a new place where you are the youngest, can be very intimidating and nerve racking. However everyone here has made it so easy to adjust.
Try your best to meet new people and learn different things.
