I think the programme at uni is beneficial and has brought me knowledge I have been able to take into the business. Some parts of the course seem unorganised and some topics seem to feel as fillers.
As mentioned previous, there are parts of the course I believe could be structured better, I think the initial reminders on things such as referencing at the start of the second year isnt neccesary.
I send a weekly email to my manager and the team to keep them up-to-date with things I'm completing in uni to see if it can be utilised in the work place My employer supports me with my development when needed.
There is lots of support available through MMU and the skills coaches are great at pointing us in the right direction, we have reviews with them once a quarter to review progress.
My role differs slightly from most who work in IT as I am the only person in the business who does IT as this role didnt exist prior to me joining. The qualification itself has provided new ways of thinking and helped my ability to present to the team.
There are plenty of extra activities available at work that are offered, such as bi-weekly yoga, 5 a side football, monthly team lunch events and departmental visits. We have also been put forward for multiple awards all over the country.
