My role includes analysing and reviewing data. I then try to understand this data by looking at patterns / trends, external and internal factors. Typical daily tasks include analysing and creating PowerPoint packs and excel spreadsheets, and uploading data to central database.
I have developed many skills and learnt many new ones since starting my apprenticeship. The main skill I have developed is my ability to use Excel. Using Excel on a daily basis, and listening and watching my mentors I am now able to use many different formulas on excel and use its features to portray my data. I have also significantly improved ability to present to a group.
I have enjoyed my programme so far. My team has taken me on and been very supportive to me, always helping me to develop and take on more responsibilities. I enjoy the progression of completing tasks and projects at month end and then being given more responsibilities the following month.
My programme is well structured. RSA enable me to continually develop in my role by taking on more and more responsibilities, allowing me to become a greater asset to the team, whilst also ensuring I get sufficient time to complete my studies and even supporting me with my studies.
I receive a lot of support from everyone I meet at RSA. I have developed good relationships with all my peers at RSA, and they all always take the time to check in and see if I require any further support in anyway possible, whether that is personally, to do with my day to day work, or related to my studying.
I have a Babington workshop each week for 3 hours. The teacher during these sessions always takes the time to answer as many questions as the group has and helps us to understand each topic before moving on to the next. The teacher has also put extra revision sessions on to help support us for exams
There has been a few modules which relate to my day to day role, but all the modules have helped me to improve my understanding of accounting as a whole. My team always take the time to discuss my ongoing studies and help me to relate what I have learnt to the business.
There is lots of extra-curricular activities to get involved with RSA. Every employee has the opportunity to take a day a year to complete volunteering work for their chosen charity. Since I have started at RSA I have been given the opportunity to network with my peers and senior stakeholders in the business. This opportunity often comes after meetings and I have found the opportunity to socialise and get to know other co-workers whilst also having the opportunity to leave a good professional impression of myself.
Yes
I have been made to feel very welcome since I started and I have always felt supported by everyone at RSA. There are lots of career opportunities available and I think RSA always encourage employees to progress and move around the company to find a role that suits them the best.
Research RSA and its history. Research abount RSA's insurance policies and its competitors and have some knowledge of current or more recent insurance events and challenges.
