I really enjoyed my time working at EY. When on business experiences, my roles included creating spreadsheets for funds, meeting clients and overseeing business meetings. I also gave many presentations and was involved in an abundance of team building activities.
I significantly improved my confidence from giving the presentations, and the feedback provided by the staff helped me improve my presentation technique. I also improved my communication skills, due to the team-work tasks- as they required us to brainstorm our ideas and solve problems.
I enjoyed the programme as it allowed me to develop new skills and get a stronger insight into what it's like to work in a professional business environment.
I felt valued by the team as they were very supportive and asking our opinions on issues and making us feel more involved in the organisation.
The programme was very well structured. Initially, there was a short induction tour- outlining health and safety procedures. For the first two weeks of the programme, we were learning and developing our skills, and in the third week we were allocated to a service line for business experience.
The training was a very high standard and this allowed me to make the most of the experience.
The mentor during my final year at high school (after the programme) was very useful as it allowed me to have a second-check for CVs/personal statements, and a knowledgeable source of advice.
The salary met my costs were well and was a generous package
There were many opportunities to meet with the other work experience students after the programme, through reunion events. During breaks we would often just have a drink and all talk together- it was very enjoyable.
Yes
It is a highly professional and well-known business organisation and working there was a great experience.
Don't be afraid to share your views and try to just enjoy the programme and take as much as you can from it.
