On the 3 week EY Smart Futures programme we had two weeks of various workshops and skills training. In the final week we had an opportunity to carry out work experience in a sector of the Company. The first two weeks were very exciting as we learnt various aspects of business as well as being given the opportunity to work on a mock case study that we later presented. At the end of the two weeks we were fully prepared to put to use the skills we had learnt into our final week of work experience.
I learnt a variety of skills whilst ln the programme but most of all I learnt how to be more confident in my communication when presenting and as well as with my peers.
The Programme was very exciting as I got to learn and experience a lot of new things. It was also great working alingside other sixth formers and getting to know everyone.
Considering the fact that we have a Smart Futures alumni I do feel reasonably valued by EY. it is nice to keep in contact and the fact EY is opening us up to even more opportunities through the alumni events.
The programme was well structures as we got a taster of all the things within a firm such as EY from media to business communication. We got opportunities to go on lunch with clients as well as getting to meet ither people on the firm which was good as we could ask any questions we had about working in such a firm.
I receive great support as I have been given an individual mentor which is part of the scheme. I meet up with my mentor roughly once a month and we can talk about any issues. This is a great extra to the programme because the mentor can be really helpful with things like preparing for exams.
The pay we got for the work experince was reasonably well considering we are only in sixth form.
Yes there are many opportunities but an oppportunity as good as the EY Smart Futures programme is a little rare.
Yes
The programme with EY is a good learning experience and confidence builder. It is also a great opportunity to have work experience at such a well known Accounting firm and will look good on your personal statement.
Apply for this opportunity even if you are not studying business subjects as it really is an opportunity for everyone and it can open your eyes to the wide range of opportunities you can have if you were to work in a big firm like EY.
