I work in a restaurant, my main role is working behind a bar as well as run a breakfast service and in the play area. I can waitress as well as table service. Our restaurant is a family one and is perfect for a holiday makers. My day to day would start up with breakfast hosting and clearing and then a close down, bar set up and waitressing
Definitely, I’ve learnt to be more confident in the role that I am and to start new roles and bring ideas to the restaurant. I love helping new starts and even people who have been there longer then I am with the new skills that I have learnt along the way
I love learning new things, as well as learning different strategies with what I already know. I enjoyed taking on new challenges and taking a look from a different perspective. Each topic has something new that I could work on and apply immediately to the work I currently do there.
It worked out great, working around what I already do at work as well as my home life. It was fantastic how structured it was and I knew where I was going and what I was going to do. Working towards the final goal and how much I had learned along the way
I lacked in the support with my employer at parts of my learning, so I took it upon myself to seek out different avenues that I could get the support from. As well as teaming up with another member of staff who was also learning along the way. There was few hiccups but we got there in the end
As much support that I could possibly need! I suffer with anxiety and depression and was absolutely amazed by the support that I got given by my training provider. Who helped me understand and break down all of the different levels and problems that I could possibly face along the way
I’ve worked in my role for a number of years now and doing this training opened my eyes up to a whole new world that I didn’t realise was right in front of me. I can now perform much better and show that I have confidence in my role
I believe that there is but I am yet to experience them. I would love to know what there is out there within the business that I could do and socialise with other like minded individuals. Specially when it comes to team building and networking with others in the business
Yes
Whitbread has become a family to me, I’ve worked with whitbread for over 5 years now and I don’t wish to move away from the company. With opportunities to get extra qualifications along the way how could I say no. I’ve told other staff about the apprenticeship program that they offer and got more on board. I myself have even signed up for the next level
Go for it, what is there to lose. It’s a great opportunity to build yourself up and even gain confidence as well as qualifications along the way if you want to. Ask for help when needed, we will help you and guide you along the way. Learn from mistakes we all make them, but we can always gain from them
