My current role involves managing National IT Projects and deploying them across GB/IE During my Apprenticeship and following my Apprenticeship, I was taught how to manage a large team to achieve and exceed KPI's, leading to the successful leadership of a large department
Both! My Apprenticeship taught me how to treat staff members in order for them to perform at their very best, whilst also enjoying their job! These are skills in which were formed throughout the course of my apprenticeship but led to the development of already existing skills e.g. communication
I thoroughly enjoyed my Apprenticeship! The chance to be mentored by Industry Leading Managers are few and far between meaning I was in a very fortunate position at a young age Everyone has the same goal within Aldi, which makes the Team Work side of the job even more enjoyable
Very. I had monthly reviews with my Direct Leader to discuss progress and bi-monthly reviews with my Personnel Leader to discuss career progression and to receive feedback from a Senior Manager I also had regular communication with my Training Provider, often attending Masterclasses to further develop myself as a Leader
Both my Managers, Direct and Personnel, invested a huge amount of time to me and my development. Both have been instrumental to my success to date following my Apprenticeship I couldn't have asked for anything more from them
Support from my Training Provider was constant - monthly updates to discuss theory work and often Masterclasses to build on skills that can not only be used within a Warehouse Management capacity, but also beyond
The theory work was directly linked to my day to day role. For example, I undertook a Masterclass on 'How to build a successful Team', this was commonly utilised when inducting a new member of staff to the Department / Warehouse etc.
During Masterclasses, I often met others within the Industry, both internal and external to Aldi. This was a huge benefit as Aldi is constantly looking for ways to improve meaning any info I had picked up from others within the industry, may be applicable to my Department to improve
Yes
Aldi is very much a 'get out when you put in' Business. Any individual with the drive to succeed in their career will be recognised by Aldi, Aldi will provide all the tools / skills to do your job effectively and advance in the Industry, all you need to do it take it
Ensure that you make use of those above you, squeeze every little bit of knowledge out of each Manager you come across and try to digest the info and apply it into your day to day life, this will shape you into a more well rounded individual that can adapt to ever changing situations
