We spent the first two week getting to know each other, doing team building activities and developing skills. the final week was spent doing 'business experience' where we spent time in one of the sectors at EY.
Most of us on the programme have developed networking skills the most from meeting new people and employees at the firm. Personally I think my confidence have developed the most from being in a professional environment.
I enjoyed the programme so much! Definitely an eye opener being part of a company like EY. I didn't expect to enjoy it so much, I mostly just expected it to be another work experience placement but by the end of it I realised how wrong I was.
Everyone at EY are so nice and made me feel very welcome. They helped with the tasks they gave us, and even the partners at the firm was nicer than I thought they'd be!
The programme was definitely well structured. It was clear that the people from EY had put a lot of effort into our tasks and experience there. We had an induction evening to meet everyone else on the programme which helped us all settle in. At the start of the programme we was given a booklet with what we would be doing for the weeks there.
We had guidance through everything we did there, making the programme more enjoyable.
There was always a member of EY with us doing the tasks with a great attitude to helping us.
EY reimbursed travel costs for us as well as being paid for the programme!
After the programme ended we have been invited to various events with EY and alumni events, one being rock climbing!
Yes
It was an eye opener being able to see what a job would be like in the real world. It made me realise how many opportunities I actually have and made me feel less scared for the next step in my life.
Don't under estimate the online tests, they don't give you much time to complete them. Be polite at the interview to everyone, not just the interviewer. (for example the receptionist). Don't be scared for the interview, they understand it's likely your first and are very nice!
