I'm in a new leadership role which encounters a multitude of variety every day from the daily dealings with staff and customers, ensuring a service is provided as well as handling and maintaining the figures required to ensure government standards and national statistics are accurate so that policy and budget can be informed and provide the best possible service.
I learn new things daily, this week alone was about productivity and how to make technology work for me, how to prioritise my to do list and be more productive and focused in the work environment. I have put all information in one easy to access place so that I have everything at the click of the mouse and have little searching required. It has made today much easier. Going forward in a new role I will continue to organise my schedule this way. I have developed with the way I lead moving from one government department to another and taking my newfound skills with me to create an open and safe environment for my team who know I am here to support them.
I really enjoy the program from the delivery of the self-learning, Frankilin Covey is a great site, the coaches and the class leaders have all been great and I love mingling with the other learners and being inspired by their ideas and opinions.
Amazing so far- only downside is the lack of ability to transfer information sourced as evidence if not already used. It was difficult and faffy with no way to store the evidence kept and transfer it to a new department. (Probably easier in non-government roles)
I've had a mixed bag but believe this new manager will be more supportive again.
My trainers have been brilliant at keeping me on track and enthusiastic.
Every day I am learning new things, understanding more about my role with things which are relatable and able to achieve better outcomes.
I am the engagement lead now but new to the role this week so there will be things in the future.
Yes
Because people need the help sometimes to get through tough times and find the support, they need to move forwards.
Be bi-lingual! They use a whole new language of acronyms which takes some getting used to and it is much more number driven than I had anticipated.
