My role is an admin based one which also involves answering a large amount of calls. The purpose of these calls and the emails we attend to are to adhere to Rental reservation requests which often involves placing bookings, checking for availability in specific areas, extending and off hiring rental vehicles and making notes of damages.
I've certainly developed my communication to a much more confident level as I've been exposed to an abundance of customer service experience throughout my time in the workplace. I've become rather proficient in public speaking due to the opportunities I've taken and the training I've recieved has improved my attention to detail and decision making.
I enjoy this apprenticeship scheme tremendously as I am able to tackle exciting challenges that have increased my confidence and the skills I've learned and developed have assisted in granting me a level of professionalism I hadn't thought was possible. We recieve an extensive amount of support to ensure that any queries we may have are reflected on.
Our organisation is structured in a way that clearly represents the rank and position of each member. Despite me only being an apprentice , we are treated with the same respect as regular employees. The apprenticeship provides dates for goals that allow us to prepare for future activities and assessments and allows us to work around those times to an extent.
We recieve an Apprenticeship mentor who is responsible for adhering to any and all concerns that we may have. Whether it's an aspect of work or trouble getting into the office, mentors are there to aid us. Our line managers are also extremely caring towards our wellbeing and will always ensure we're not feeling overwhelmed.
Our mentors and line managers alike offer to assess our assignments and provide critical feedback on how we can improve our submissions. Furthermore, they are always accomodating to balance our coursework and day to day job which has been an immense relief while in the workplace. The people here are always willing to lend a helping hand.
The skills needed to attain the qualification are consistently improved upon with our experiences in the workplace. These skills are what lay the foundation for what employers may need of us after the apprenticeship scheme. It certainly has proved to be very beneficial especially with the exposure to different workplace scenarios.
There are an abundance of extra-cirricular events to attend. A Careers Fair, the Christmas parties, Diversity meetings and Sports to participate in are some examples of what I've been granted while working at Zenith. LinkedIn has proven to be an effective way of expanding my connections in the corporate industry.
