As a degree apprentice, we rotate around the business every six months to a department of our choosing. Currently, I am working as a Position Manager within the Energy Markets Department. This role consists of proving the traders with live views of their positions so they can make informed decisions.
Time management, stakeholder management, developed communication and learnt how to adapt tone of voice to different stakeholders / scenarios, emotional intelligence.
Love it! The programme offers the ability to learn on the job whilst obtaining a degree. There is a strong sense of togetherness within the cohort and our scheme leaders which empowers and motivates the DA's
Each DA has a mentor, buddy (a more experienced DA), scheme leads and placement managers to oversee development and to support.
E.ON are great at supporting me from a uni perspective to in the workplace. Uni travel is all expensed and a day a week is allocated to completing uni work!
Derby uni is great in providing support, we are appointed with a liaison at the university which helps us with our portfolio evidence and our lectures are always willing to offer support when required.
Our degree is tailored to E.ON. Each assignment is structured in a way in which it is centred around the organisation where we work. Therefore, it enables on the job learning to be applied to the theory and vice versa.
I play football on a Wednesday in the work team. Also, there are many networking events to become involved within and the DA cohort often have nights out!
