I'm a Team leader, I'm responsible for allocating work every day and deal with any issues the case workers and customers might have. I also deal with any HR issues and listening to calls to see if there's any issues need addressing, providing Feeback and support to case workers.
i have learnt Managers play an important role in knowledge sharing. Managers must communicate with their teams to share whatever they know. A unique idea is of no use, if not shared. They need to make sure the employees know exactly what their expectations are and provide guidance whenever needed.
I have enjoyed most of the modules, what i find most enjoyable is We have to pay special attention when deciding which leadership styles to use in work-based situations. Applying the wrong method can cause damage to productivity and work relationship. Personally, I use delegative leadership the most because I have a very mature and established team, they require minimal intervention and guidance.
The programme is well structured, because we have a talent coach who has regular meetings with us, and we have coaching work shops which provide us an opportunity to speak with other learners and discuss and exchange ideas. my manager is also very supportive. the downside is some contents are not relevent to my job.
My manager show concern for me and other employees, and treat us with dignity and respect. we employees, in turn, feel valued and cared for. In times of change we trust her to help us manage uncertainty. When i need support i know i can depend on her for advice.
As well as setting out the minimum requirements for newer providers, Babington supports us by highlighting good practice and continuous improvement. It also links to detailed guidance on specific topics such as off-the-job training and end-point assessment. my talent tutor is supportive too, and can be contacted by email any time.
I've learnt lot of useful techniques- the importance of behaviours exhibited and strategies used by managers in the workplace have a direct impact on employee performance and mental health, it could the difference of employees flourishing or feeling of helplessness. I have been consciously applying the coaching skills I leant into work.
I don't have much extra-curricular activities to get involved in at my work.
Yes
Most people/colleagues are very helpful, I'm very new in this role and lots to learn. It's a challenging role, and I'm doing the apprenticeship course at the same time, so alot to juggle, i wish they had given me more time to get use to the role first.
It's a good place to work, working time is flexible. The people we work with are friendly and helpful. training should be better and more tailored to specific roles. There's lots of change happening too, so we should be more flexible at adjusting to new responsibilities and roles.
