Doing the degree level i have learnt new skills and theories that have helped to improve my management style and understanding
Although stressful, i have enjoyed the course
Structure was good, organisation from the uni was a little erratic at times, but this could be because of adapting to post lockdown lectures
lots of support in terms of a paid uni day each week, my AM and PMs have been fab, the degree organiser Michelle was also helpful
I was very lucky to have some very knowledgeable and supportive lecturers as my mentors - Martin went above and beyond - always arranged a phone call if required to try and assist me if i was unclear
it helps me understand more about why we do things the way we do, an also how to be a better manager
not really
Yes
i started as a part time employee, but soon gathered there is a career there if you work hard enough. I have learnt a lot working in my role and have almost completed 11 years service - they have also put me through the degree apprenticeship too which helped me focus and give me a sense of direction
many see hospitality as a stop gap employment but there is actually a career in it which goes beyond being bar staff and waiting staff. I was always told that JDW would work you hard, but i do believe you are rewarded for your hard work and make friends!
