Starts off with a daily meeting to talk about the work you plan on doing throughout the course of the day and there are often meeting scattered throughout the day to do with the project and different aspects of it - rest of time is coding to help fix a bug
Yes I never knew how to code prior to joining the apprenticeship, and now I am at a competent level and as well as this I have also developed my presentation skills through the multiple presentations I have been asked to present as well as my teamworking and communication skills due to me working with others in my project
I like it quite a bit, the university side is interesting although there are a few questionable modules but thats with every uni course - allows you to meet a lot of different types of people that are also on the same programme as you and so is fun - the work side is also relaxed but also is good enough to allow you to be constantly learning
The work side of the programme is well organised - each team has a manager and every manager i have worked with is organised and ensures that everybody is on the right track. The uni side has a bit to be desired, the lectures for the most part are decently organised but there are definitely areas for improvements
A lot of support , my employer has multiple avenues I can reach out to if i feel as though I am struggling, and there is always somebody willing to help me with any of my struggles. In terms of learning my employer provides opportunities to gain extra qualifications as well showing further support which is nice
A little bit, not as much as I would like, it depends on a lecturer to lecturer basis, with some being very helpful and others being not so much, but there is support available but you need to push and try a lot harder to receive the same level of support that my employer provides easily.
it definitely has helped me. specific modules are much more influential on a daily basis than others that i learn at university but often there is at least 1 module a semester that directly impacts or affects my role at work and this allows me to build on the limited knowledge i have experienced from my work role.
Yes, I play in the football team with my work provider. As well as this there is other sports teams and a plethora of social and networking events that occurs regularly that individuals can attend and I have attended quite a few of them. They are fun and also allow you to meet new people.
Yes
fun company to work for, with a laid back culture that allows you to learn but not putting insane pressure on you to work hours on end. there is also a wide range of activities that you can participate in and is overall a fun company to work for that i would recommend
look at KPMG's values, and see why KPMG stands out compared to other firms for whatever roles you are applying for. Be honest and have an opened mind when in the interview, the interviewers are cool people and treating it as though you are having a conversation with somebody like a teacher or a lecturer will make it easier for you to do the interview.
