I am a duty manager in Premier inn Hotel in Newbury South where i normally run the shift as a manager which involves taking handovers from another DM and pre briefing team members before starting the shift making everyone aware of the overall guests staying in house as well as restaurants bookings and give each team members their job role for that shift. Coordinate wih Head Housekeepers and maintenence ablut daily updates etc
Yes i have learnt how to conduct and showcase myself as team leader by delegating the jobs and presenting myself as role model by actually showing the team members how to be done and to take really seriously about the stuff like allergens, health and safety, food hygiene etc
I do enjoy a lot being working as front of house as it gives me chance to interact with lota of different guests and getting to know about their time in the hotel and if they have any experiences staying in other hotels with what it helps to improve my understanding towards the guests expectations and i can implement them all.
Its pretty well organised as we get our work rotas for 2-3 weeks in advance which help everyone one of us to make plan ahead of our day offs and holidays as well as we can clearly see the team on the day/shifts if all are capable and suitable or not
To be honest it wasn't a good at the beginning as i had always dis agreements with my Hotel Manager regarding the way of running shifts and etc, but as time went by and i had few occasions had face to face meetings with him where i get to know about his approach towards hos way of working and motive so its all in good place at the moment
To be honest my training provider is very good iterms of providing the tolls i need to learn or improve for any related topics or subjects and the app itself is very easy to login and get informed at all times when needed and very informative too can't complain
It is helping me a lot as i get to learn so many new things though this course and i am kind of looking into the job and my duties veru differently as i am gaining more confidence each day with the help of the knowledge i am getting from this
We do get this but not everyone can involve as they all i have their personal life and busy at times, so always its either one or two staff got chosen and theu film videos photos and upload them on the online platform to see if get any feedback from head office and if they happy with then they publish them as well
Yes
This company actually provide so many tools to get knowledge and improve and also to get promoted if willing to, i am not sure about other hotels but in my work place i can clearly see the diversity regardless of any gender, religion, culture, nationality etc which make it so amazing place to be around at all times
I would say if coming to whitbread then one thing for sure is that if willing to then will get ao many opportunities to learn and progress both personally and professionally. Be loyal to the company and will definitely benefit in every way and specially this apprenticeship scheme is so amazing and its all provided by the company for free!!!
