Our role day today day includes being a support unit for the children under our care, within this we emotionally support our young people but also a promotion in a better lifestyle and supported living, we shape our young people into a better chance in life and future and support every need
I have learnt many skills, within this role and through my course I have learnt many subjects such as about gangs, exploitation, legislations, support young people who have experienced harm and abuse, and many other subjects, these have all helped me improve my practice and understand the risks children face and our responsibility to help these young people
I enjoy this programme as it helps enhance my knowledge, not only has it helped my practice but improved my writing skills, maths and giving me a widen knowledge on legislations and subjects such as exploitation, I feel this programme has give me the resources I need to reach my full potential
I feel it is organised as long as a the tutor and student communicate well, I feel me and my tutor have good organisation and a understanding of what needs completing due to me have contact and attending all our monthly meetings with my tutor, i feel for other learners this has been something they struggle with
I received a good amount of support however do not seek this support often I feel I can do most of my work myself but do need managers input sometimes, I feel I would rather do this myself and seek support from tutor if I need this as I feel tutor understands better
I feel I don’t need much support but my tutor is always there to help me, if this is extending time lines or asking a question about the work I feel that my training provided works well to support me within this and is always accessible if needed which his good
I feel it has helped me widen my knowledge and has had a great impact on my quality of work and knowledge in areas, it helps me especially within my structure writing and given me some great knowledge in areas such as effects abuse can have on young people, overall this has benefited me considerably
No not particularly, the only time we are able to do this is with the young people so I would say there is a fair amount, we can attend boxing with young people and take them out to the cinema etc but there is nothing just for team members and staff
Yes
I feel libre living is a great and supported company that is growing everyday, we provide great support for our young people and this role benefits staff by learning new skills and gaining a qualification, we are supported to always strive for more and I feel this role supports me in reaching my level 5
Be open minded and go in with your heart, this role is more then just a job and it is important you can work as a team and be open to support those with complex needs, it is important to understand what this role involves and go above and beyond
