On a day to day basis my role involves communicating with the relationship managers in my team and other assistant relationship directors to assist them with different tasks. These tasks include things such as building quotes for customers, preparing offer letters and taking deals from quote stage and following all the way to them getting paid out to the customer.
I have learnt many new skills over the five months I have been in this job. My numeracy skills have have grown greatly along side job specific skills that I had no previous experience with. I have also greatly developed my confidence and communication skills by speaking to customers more over the phone.
Overall I am greatly enjoying the programme, it is something that is very different for me as all previous jobs have been within retail. There is a great deal of variety within the job and there are many learning opportunities within the programme to gain new skills and plenty of support to improve ones I already had.
On a whole, I think things could be structured slightly better. I am still trying to get used to where to find information and which parts of the programme are within which internet pages. The way that the webinars are structured is very good. Having the webinars biweekly allows for time for studying in the other weeks and helps prevent anyone falling behind.
I am very greatly to receive a lot of support from my employer. Daily, I am getting a lot of support from my peers and fellow assistant relationship directors. I also have scheduled meetings with my line manager to discuss my progress and ways in which I can improve within my job.
There is plenty of support from the training provider. There are scheduled meetings which we can discuss progress and next steps within the apprenticeship. My apprenticeship provider is also provider is also always available to email of phone if necessary to discuss any smaller issues that may arise in between calls.
I believe that the webinars I get through my training provider help cement the knowledge that I am learning though the day job. It gives me a better whole picture of what I am doing and allows me to completed my work to a higher standard as I have better back ground knowledge.
So far I have not seen any extra curricular activities within my work place. Although there are a few social gatherings which gives a good opportunity to get to know my colleagues outside of the work place. I believe that more social activities would be very beneficial to a workplace.
Yes
I Believe that Natwest is a very good place to work. In the five months I have been in the business I have felt extremely well supported by not just my team but all the other teams in the country. They offer very good support outside the day job and offer excellent opportunities to collaborate with others in the wider team.
If I was to give advice to others thinking of joining the Natwest Group I would tell them to not hold back and to be confident with themselves as the company is extremely welcoming and will help you achieve your goals within the business. They also offer great benefits and training to those new to the business.
