I am a Procurement Manager at abrdn mainly focusing on Consultancy/Professional Services. My role involves working on providing Procurement support and running through tender processes, engagements and secondments for stakeholders within the business.
Through the GA course and working at abrdn it has allowed me to develop new and existing skills. E.g. Different techniques used for questioning and how to respond to stakeholders which is a day to day activity for me.
The programme is really enjoyable and through various projects has allowed access to senior stakeholders within abrdn
The programme is structured well and I am aware of what needs to be done and the expectations
Support received from colleagues at abrdn has been great. I have regular calls with my mentor, the Procurement team as a whole are supportive and even the senior stakeholders in the business have been great and even offer up more of their time after initial discussions.
Support from the training provider is good. The lecturers we have are all available and it is easy to reach out to them for any support.
Really well. I am able to use things learnt through the course to directly put to use in day to day activities. It also helps getting an understanding of the financial sector from direct work and through learning on the course
Yep, abrdn has a lot of extra-curricular activities to get involved in.
Yes
Personally I have a great time working at abrdn as everyone I have met within the business so far have been nice and supportive and the working environment in general is great
Be yourself, ask questions and get to know people
