  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I always feel welcomed when entering premier inn rugby,I’m always greeted with a smile and made to feel at home,I feel if I had any problems or needed help with anything then there is always someone who is willing to take their time to come and help.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes I have learnt lots of new skills from learning how to clean rooms, making beds,managing laundry rooms and chemicals to also training new staff and starting my apprenticeship where I’ve gained more confidence and learning new skills as I go along especially in how to manage people and how to meet everyone’s different needs and wants to treating everyone fairly.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I am really enjoying it because it makes me feel I have a sense of purpose in my workplace,I love to learn so learning all these new skills is really boosting my knowledge and confidence to make me be able to do my job to the best I can and to the best standards.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I feel my program is well structured because it’s set out in clear order to what I can understand and follow,I have Regular contact with my work coach and regular reviews so feel I have all the support I need and whenever I need it and it also ties in we’ll with the practical side of learning with the learning/written side so what I’m learning on the theory side also I’m putting into practice at the same time with the practical so I’m able to use them skills I’m learning about.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive brilliant support from work,my manager is also involved with being apart of my regular reviews with my work coach so she can update her on my progress at work and also so my manager can see how I’m doing and what areas I need to be learning on and doing the practical side too,my manager also takes me too once a month engagement days out at other premier inns to meet my work coach and be able to do some of my apprenticeship coursework.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My work coach is absolutely amazing she has shown me so much support through clearly explaining my apprenticeship too me, being clear on instructions and how to complete tasks,when I’ve ever needed help she has always been there to help or answer any questions I’ve needed straight away and to make it as easy as possible.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel it helps me to perform better because the new knowledge I’m learning I can put into practice in my job role on a daily basis which is helping me to gain new skills and build my confidence and also makes me strive even more to want to do my best and progress.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes we have special events for expample Christmas or sometimes birthdays where we will all as a team go out for meal and drinks or a disco,some colleagues will meet socially outside of work, I got engagement days with my manager ,we have team meetings out of work time which can include activities too.

  • Yes

  • I feel it’s great place to work it has great working ethics,we all feel like a part of a little family,everyone helps eachother, treats everyone and each individual fairly and will try their hardest to and do all they can to meet your needs.great opportunities to progress.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Whitbread?
  • I would say to anyone applying just to be yourself and if you need help don’t be afraid to ask as premier inn colleagues/managers are always happy to help,If you lack confidence and skills and would like to gain more and progress and learn new skills then their apprenticeship is definitely for you.
