My role involves shadowing the solicitors in my team and getting hands on with all the tasks i can help with. This involves making phone calls to clients, filing applications to court, reviewing records and sitting in meetings.
I have developed more confidence in all aspects; public speaking, having important conversations. I have also developed my writing skills as i have drafted multiple letters. I have improved my time management skills by balancing my university studies and work.
I thoroughly enjoy my programme. The atmosphere is a wonderful one to work in as i have the support of my colleagues who are always ready to help and have made valuable friends in the way.
Pretty well organised as i know what I'm doing and why. There's rarely times i feel confused in the way the programme is heading as everything such as the process is explained to me very well.
I receive a lot of support from Irwin Mitchell as there is always training offered for things i don't understand and also my fellow apprentices and senior colleagues are always available to offer a helping hand.
There is a lot of support if it's needed. Extra sessions on modules i don't understand or need further help in. My skills coach always gets back to me on queries i have and there is online courses which help develop my studying skills such as referencing in my university work.
There are a lot of links between what i learn through my university studies and my daily tasks in work.
I am part of my office's charity team and we always have events lined up in the month such as quiz nights and bake sales. They're a great opportunity to meet people i wouldn't normally work with.
Yes
They are great at offering ongoing support, continuously concerned with their apprentices well-being . The work is always varying with no two days being the same and the experience gained is invaluable
I would suggest that people applying to IM showcase their best qualities and skills to demonstrate how you would be a great addition to the firm. They are looking for a display of passion in why you want to work here and evidence you'll be a great fit.
