  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am the registered manager for a 7 bed residential home for people with Learning disabilities, autism, challenging behaviour. My role is to manage the team of staff, ensure the safety of the residents and staff, communicate with the families and specialists (GP, mental health teams, dentists, social services), schedule trainings, weekly ROTA for staff, ensure that the home is complying with the CQC, Health and Safety, Infection control, Fire Safety regulations.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Been as a new registered manager from May 2022 i had to learn new skills to help me with the job, like: recruitment plans, audits, managing staff performance. In the same time i developed the skills that i already using before becoming a manager (communication, leadership), been a team leader and deputy manager before that

  • It is very useful by providing the necessary information to ensure that my knowledge is the one required for my job

  • Very well structured, the sessions are allowing time to do research, the information provided during the sessions is relevant

  • I receive all the support that i require during the program

  • The company is providing various ways to increase the knowledge, through enrolling me to online or face-to-face trainings.

  • By give me the necessary information to ensure that i do my job accordingly

  • There are. Everyday i receive invitations to different events (online or face to face) from different providers regarding the changes in social care settings.
