My role is primarily focussed on the performance of our key outsource supplier. They manage a majority of our service delivery activities. I deliver number of key reports showing performance against KPI's, total volume, forecasting future workloads, and managing system licence forecasting. Another key aspect is invoice validation of our monthly bill to ensure accuracy.
As it stands I have had limited exposure to new skills as part of my Degree Apprenticeship which are directly applicable or beneficial to my job role. The first year is more generic in nature and as I have worked in my industry for 20+ years and my current company for 15 years I have the experience to be the senior in my role. Although I understand why this taught in the first year.
So far the part of the experience I have enjoyed the most is meeting my peers on the course. It's been nice meeting some like-minded people in a variety of industries who do similar jobs and experience similar challenges. I look forward to working with them over the next few years.
I would say MMU have some learnings when it comes to organisation and structure. We have Moodle to manage our content, but its used inconsistently from unit to unit giving it a challenging learning curve. Sometimes updates on lecture schedules have been delivered at midnight the day before the lectures are due to happen which is less than ideal.
My employer has been flawless in their support for this. They have given me all the time off required, have changed my objectives to take into account the KSB's required as part of the apprenticeship and have attended all reviews with my skills coach and have taken the time to provide full feedback.
I believe my training provider is struggling with understanding the support required by Apprenticeship Degree students vs standard undergraduate students. We may require more specific advice in some scenarios but less specific in others as we have different experiences. Key for me is that we by virtue of being full time employees have less free time. So simply giving us standard undergrad advice is not as helpful as it seems.
I believe this qualification will give me a better academic background enabling me to perform my role to a significantly higher level of competence. Although I expect to be in a more senior role by the time I graduate or soon after this qualification will undoubtedly assist with that aim.
I am not involved in any extra curricular activities within work however there are a large number of employee networks such as TalkPride the LGBTQ+ Network, Empower for BAME employees, TalkFamalies, TalkNeurdiversity Promoting awareness of Neurodiversity, Woman in Tech, Wellbeing Community and Net Zero Heros's available for employees to join.

I have worked in my organisation for a number of years in a variety of roles and the company is very keen to encourage and develop talent from within. Secondments to other roles are common place, there are more apprenticeships available than i can remember and the culture of the company is to be inclusive and supportive.
Remember that collaboration is key. People in the company are more than willing to help our colleagues. Whether that be with a project, an assignment where they need support, or even jump starting their car. Collaboration is at the heart of the companies ethos so working with others is a critical character trait.
