The programme was called Smart Futures. It was 3 weeks long. The first week was mainly team building exercises and getting an insight into EY, to see what we was capable of. Including presentations etc. The second week gave us more of an insight into what EY did, and we done more activities such as a Dragons Den style one. We also went to client sites, such as a law firm to take part in various activities. The final week we was aligned to a specific service line. Mine was in IT Advisory, where I had to go through project proposals and create various powerpoints.
Yes definitely, by working with such a large group (50+), it allowed us to develop our own skills, as well as learn from other.
The various activities always kept us on our toes, no two were alike so it was always interesting and fun.
Minor verbal feedback throughout was good, as well as an end of programme final feedback session provided us with very useful information. In addition, we all had to atl east once be the leader of a group.
Very well organised, strict time limits, but always ran to time. Well planned, and got a lot into each day because of it.
We was assigned a mentor after the programme, who i can meet with regularly and ask them on absolutely anything i have problems with. EY related or not.
There are a wide variety of people i can contact at anytime before, during or after the programme. Which made me feel very comfortable.
Getting paid for the programme was amazing, considering i did not even know it was paid when i signed up! Travel can also be subsidised if you live a fair distance from MLP.
Loads, EY hosts so many events, its impossible to put them all into one box!
Yes
The whole experience was amazing in every-way, i met loads of people. Got to do things i never thought i would do, and it gave me an insight into the corporate world. Completely priceless. Not to mention it can lead onto a school-leaver programme, and its paid!
Apply as early as you can. Just be yourself and do not try to hard. Be natural and you will come across as more confident.
