I am a welder which gets into work for 7:30am, after I am in i would get into my PPE and then begin welding, i will have 3 breaks during my day which keep me ready and motivated. Each break is 30 mins, which one 1 hour lunch break. After the day is done I will clean up and go home.
I have learnt a variety of new skills and definitely developed my knowledge. Babcock keep me on my toes and allow me to be the best worker i can possibly be for a first year apprentice. I have learnt how to weld at a good standard, whilst also learning what the working world is like as I am 16 just coming from school.
I enjoy my programme very much and would recommend it to anyone who was interested. It makes work life a little more enjoyable working for babcock and the aims and objectives i have set myself are getting closer to be completed. This programme is a great way to get yourself in the working world and has helped me so much.
The structure in my programme is done very well, this is because it allows me to know what i will need to achieve every year to pass my apprenticeship. I know if i need help with anything there is always members of the team there to support me, therefore the structure is superb
My employer is always offering me support, extra sessions and even groups of people i can join. This helps me very much as it allows me to be more comfortable and confident at work. My employer is always there for me when i need them and they are very kind and friendly.
I receive the maximum support when working towards my qualification and this does help me very much. They can put specific sessions in place to support me and this really does help. However, if you don’t ask for help or support it means they cannot help you , therefore it is always important to ask the questions.
My qualification helps me perform exceptionally better as this will guide me to what seems to be a good long lasting career. Knowledge, skills and behaviours are involved which allows me to understand my role better and definitely perform it better at work, meaning I am the best employee I can be.
Yesss, there are so many extra curricular activists to get involved in, these involve things like sports events and even networking events that can support any individual in babcock. These events really do help as they make you feel more comfy and confident whilst being at work in the working environment
Yes
I would recommend babcock to a friend because this business is a great and friendly company that is open to any age. I am 16 and babcock has supported me so much and they have helped me get into the working lifestyle. I have older friends who have also said it supports them to with their own needs, So babcock is a great place and a great opportunity to have.
When applying for babcock it is important to be confident and be honest as this will bring out the best side of you. You should revise some engineering exam stuff too as this will come up in the application process and will allow you to potentially be more successful if you listen to my advice. If you are lucky enough to get to the interview stage, do not take this for granted and you should try and revise the company and understand what they do and what counties they operate in ie, England, Canada etc
