  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • At the moment I am in my 1st year of my apprenticeship, this means I am at college fulltime apart from the holidays, which is when I am at the airport. My job at the airport is to maintain different aspects of the airport to help it run smoothly, these aspects differ depending on what section I am based at, these sections include, baggage, Airfield lighting, specialist systems, LSCA, HVAC, and shuttles.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • For a 1st year being at college my programme is very well structured as i have a timetable with all my lessons for college, and during the holidays my boss gives me enough time for me to decide whether i want to take annual leave or to work at the airport, which is when he will decide which section i will be working on.
