My role as a Flying Start, is equivalent to that of an audit associate. This involves working with my team and client to audit different parts of financial statements.
I feel strongly that my knowledge and technical skills have seen great improvement. My confidence in my own work & ability has grown, I am gaining more experience & witnessing new challenges each placement.
The programme can be hard work, but it is extremely rewarding. It is a unique opportunity to study while gaining work experience simultaneously with the prospect of a future career at PwC if you pass exams. I have also met many amazing people while on the course.
The programme is extremely well structured given the complications in organising placements, exams, accommodation etc

Support from the university continues throughout placement and during term time communication is made daily. ICAEW send multiple emails a week updating students on opportunities, competitions and inspirational stories
The degree gained in 'Business, Accounting & Finance' is very applicable to any career in the financial sector, providing a base of knowledge. ICAEW qualification is essential for the job role.
Many events take place weekly at PwC, there is something for everyone, no matter of ability, disability, religion, race, gender etc. Most commonly networking events and social activities with your engagement team.
