  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoyed my programme a lot. I was able to take part in a number of projects from the beginning to the end of my apprenticeship. I was able to learn how to work within a team but also independently and have autonomy over my work. I built relationships internally and externally throughout.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My structure within my company was very good. Throughout the 18 months I was able to gain insight across the 3 areas that my team works at and by the end i focused on one area. However occasionally I could pick projects to work on or shadow member's that did different things to me

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I received a lot of support from my employer. Including my line manager, my wider team and HR. They guided me throughout the process when it came to my work at Channel 4 but also difficulties with my apprenticeship provider. I could count of them for suppoort and guidance when necessary

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I would say my experience with my apprenticeship provider was not so great because of the lack of professionalism from those working on my specific qualification and their failure to cater to those with learning difficulties. I would say that when I finally requested a new tutor my experience was a lot better

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think that although this qualification was the most similar one to my role there were still some parts that did not align which meant that we had to do a lot of independent learning and secondments. The theory and methodologies however aligned and were helpful in understanding the basics of market research.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are many ERGS without our company from 4women to 4mind to the collective. I was apart of the collective and attended their meeting regularly. They held a lot of events which I was able to go to and were really incorporated within the day to day atmosphere of the workplace. 4Women was also a really good network. I was able to attend a lot of workshop, events and conferences during my apprenticeship.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Channel 4 to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It is an amazing place o start your career in media. You get exposed to so many different things and given the chance to work on big project. Channel4 caters to a lot of different people and when you start with a big cohort of apprentices you make friends and have a community

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Channel 4?
  • I would say show as much personality as you can in your application and interviews. They want someone who stands out and will fit into the quirky environment. Make sure you do your research on specifically what your team does and any tools they use as that will be an advantage
