My role is a software developer and my main day-to-day duties are creating programs as well as attending meetings with the project team and clients.
My skills as a software developer are constantly being improved on while on a developer role. There is also the opportunity to partake in additional training if desired.
The program is very enjoyable however there are a lot of areas that could be improved.
A first you feel very valued however it has become apparent that it really is an 'every man for themselves' environment where if you want to progress in your career you have to really fight and they seem to hire too many apprentices.
The organisation can sometimes be unorganised but there is always a solid structure in place.
The training providers provide as much support as your require where possible.
The employer provide plenty of support for all their apprentices.
I consider my salary to be very, very low considering the work I do, however it is far above a normal apprenticeship.
There are a lot of opportunities outside of work, there are plenty of IT event that I would be able to go on if desired.
Yes
Overall Capgemini is a great company to work for as long as you work hard. The negatives are greatly outweighed by positives and Capgemini provide a good solid start to a career in IT.
Desmostrate your passion for ICT and show other projects that you may have done yourself.
