As an intern/trainee I was given various tasks ranging from administrative work to working on different elements in the audit process. This role allowed me to work with various teams and allowed me to apply what i've learnt at university to the working world while expanding my knowledge and network through different tasks.
I've learnt skills ranging from using excel formulas to increase efficiency and accuracy of data manipulation to improving how I communicate with others. Also I have learnt how to navigate the company's system to understand how the work fits together and how the end result is created.
I really enjoyed my placement as I felt welcomed on all of my teams and felt okay asking them a wide range of questions in order to enhance the quality of work that I provided. My teams also consisted of individuals who weren't only helpful in work related matters but they also cared about your well-being throughout the engagements. I had a fun programme that provided me with a wealth of knowledge
Coming into the programme during a very busy time, it was was well organized and allowed us to smoothly transition into the workplace but it also allowed us to quickly get up to speed. Also the systems and applications in place made it easy for us to find the information we may need to have a smooth workflow. Furthermore the support systems in place were instrumental in helping us get along during placement
There was a lot of support from the employer. It was quite easy to get in contact with the necessary persons for a range of matters and this made it easier to get along with the assessment.
My training provider is very instrumental throughout working towards my qualifications and they do a great job ensuring that we taught very clearly and in a range of methods that caters to various learning styles.
My qualification has allowed me to perform better in my role as it give me the foundation and basis for my reasoning while working through tasks. I am able to make connections to the information taught and think of ways to incorporate it into my different assignments for improved quality of work.
There were many social activities, discussions, sporting teams and other groups that you could get involved with throughout your time on the job.
